Bloomfield Hills, MI Store

I really like Target and think the new store is beautiful. However, it is huge and very exhausting for most patrons esp. if they are older, and the average age of the township exceeds 65! I have some observations on the placement of departments. I think it's bizarre to put seasonal mdse. at the farthest point from the entrance. Most people don't know that you have an electronics dept--why is it at the rear of the store instead of showcasing a wall of TVs near the entrance? Also the grocery area is at the opposite point from the entrance. When people shop for groceries they are usually in a hurry, so I would suggest that the grocery dept be moved closer to the entrance or move the up escalator to the center of the store. How about switching electronics with clothing? If someone is looking for clothes they have allotted more time for shopping so clothing can be moved to the back of the store. TV screens should be visible from the moment you come in the door, not buried in the back so that you cannot even see the whole department. Household items and furniture is completely obscured from view by a wall in the appliance department, which also makes you go a great distance trying to find an opening to get to it. The store is huge and pretty but it is poorly laid out, and vision is obstructed so that the back half is not even visible from the front. Perhaps your aisles should run front to back so people can see what is in the store. At the moment, the store is a gigantic maze, and the comment I hear from most shoppers is "I am not coming back here, because I am exhausted". I really think that you would have been better off to build an additional floor with a central escalator, so that each floor is more manageable, as Macy's does.
